Day Four of Class

Woke up this morning, and it was pouring rain. I was thankful that we were going to being working out in the gym this morning instead of starting out with canoeing. So I walk to the gym for class and by the time I get there, I’m almost completely soaked. So I go in and put on my volleyball shoes and wait for Andrea to tell us where to go. She comes out of her office and says that we are going down to the lower gym.
We all head down to the gym and set our things over by the wall. We all then move into a big circle and start off with the warm up that Andrea and Mike G. showed us on Monday before Zumba. Then Barrett stretched us out a little bit, then a man came in that I didn’t recognize. He introduced himself as Rich Fabri the Fitness Center Manger, in other words he was in charge of CLL.
He then went and started talking about fitness and the reasons that we exercise, and went into lots of details about other things too. He then had us start walking in a circle to warm-up; it eventually turned into slow jog. We then grabbed a step and started doing step ups. He then had us do some static stretches. We then jumped back into step ups, which led to squats, more step ups, lounges, step ups, and then we grabbed an exercise ball and weights. Fabri had us do lots of others things with the ball including presses and even push-ups.
After Rich left, we put away all of the equipment we used and then gathered in the middle again. Just when we thought we were done, Andrea led us in a few core exercises and a cool down stretch.
After that we went to lunch for an hour, it didn’t seem like an hour though. We all met back in the classroom in Torrey for some discussion. Since it was raining, we didn’t go canoeing; which was too bad because I was really looking forward to it. We ended up talking more about nutrition and the importance of exercising; pretty much reemphasizing what Rich had talked about that morning. Then Jonathan got up and talked about the food pyramid, which was pretty cool.
We got out early today so we could work on all the papers that are due on Friday. I cannot wait for tomorrow, it should be really fun. I love kayaking!
